Setting up a Sidecar - Mitel 68xx

- To connect your Sidecar 

Connecting an expansion module to your Mitel/Aastra desk phone is broken up into 5 easy steps.

Please select the type of expansion module you are adding to your phone. 

M680i's will just plug directly into the side of your Mitel desk phone once the rubber caps have been removed. 

M685i's are slightly more involved. This expansion module will come with the sidecar unit, hardware, and the reversible stand.

Before installing the expansion module. Please unplug any cables on the phone

As well as, remove the phone's reversible stand. It is not necessary but it is way more convenient.

Step 1. Remove the two rubber caps highlighted below.

For 6867i and 6869i's. Push out the sliding connector plate on the sidecar and screw in two 8mm screws into holes A and C.

Step 3. Press in the expansion module into the side of the phone.

Step 4. Once the expansion module is successfully connected to the phone. Screw in the 6mm screw into Hole D.

Step 5. Attach the reversible stands. Make sure the expansion module stand and the phone stand are set the same for high angle or low angle viewing.

**If adding multiple sidecars. Please follow the steps 1-5 again until all sidecars are successfully installed.

Re-install any cables you unplugged. Now your sidecar(s) is ready to use. Please follow the "Creating Custom Buttons - Mitel" for adding buttons to the expansion module(s).
