The following is a step-by-step instruction manual for installing Enterprise Starlink with a Pepwave LTE backup.
- Unbox both the Enterprise Starlink and Pepwave LTE backup.
- Connect antennas to Pepwave. Make sure the antennas are placed in the correct locations. (See Below)
- Connect power to Pepwave.
- Boot up Pepwave and make sure device has been added to the InControl portal.
- Check signal strength for LTE service.
- Download Starlink app using QR code found on packaging.
- Using Starlink app click on Start Setup and using the provided obstruction tool, find area with clearest view of sky.
- Once position confirmed, place Starlink antenna in the desired location. Make sure antenna has approximately a 140-degree clear Field of View.
- Connect Starlink Antenna to power supply
- Connect Starlink power supply to Starlink router
- Using the Starlink app on your phone, connect to the new Starlink WiFi. You will have to setup a temporary password for it.
- After this is completed, setup may still be taking place. Antenna and Router may reboot numerous times before you get an Online prompt on your cell app.
- When you get the Online prompt on your cellular app, run a signal strength and speed test for the app. When completed take a screenshot for later documentation.
- After this step is completed, you can power down both the antenna and router. Hard mount the antenna and all outside wiring at this time.
- Once all hard mounting is completed, you can disconnect the Starlink Router from the antenna. You will no longer need this but keep onsite incase needed in the future.
- Use the provided USB to Ethernet cable to connect Starlink to the Pepwave.
- Login to InControl
- Enable additional LAN/WAN ports
- Set WAN port to DHCP
- Do NOT use WAN/VLAN option
- Drag Cellular down to Secondary
- Drag Starlink WAN to Primary.
- If your network is using an IPsec VPN please configure a "dynamic peer" for the device connected to Starlink.
After all of these steps are completed, verify with speed test. Keep results for documentation. If you are able to use an open port on a switch or a computer that is on the newly installed network, do a speed test with that device as well to confirm that traffic is flowing over new Starlink network.
