Using a Headset with EHS / Hook Switch - Polycom

From your Polycom desk phone. All VVX models. 

After you have purchased and have received your headset, you will lay out all of the components. 

List of Components: 

1. Power connector for Headset Base
2. Headset
3. EHS Adapter
4. Headset Base

Configuration:

1. Connect the power connector (1) to the back of the base (4).

 
 2. Connect the EHS Adapter (3) into the back of the Base (4). 

3. Connect the other ends of the EHS Adapter (3) into the back of the Polycom. Make sure that you connect the cable to the headset port and not the handset port by mistake. 

Once you have successfully installed your headset and EHS cable. Press the Home icon on the front of the your phone.

A list of options should appear, you will need to select the Settings icon (Gear looking icon)

Select Basic, then Preferences, then Headsets, then Hookswitch Mode, from here you will select the type of headset you are using. 

1. Regular Mode - No headset

2. Jabra EHS

3. Plantronics EHS

4. Sennheiser EHS

Once you have selected the headset you have installed, the phone will ask to reboot. 

If your headset base has Dial settings. You will need to make sure that the Dial settings on the base are set correctly. For example with Plantronics bases please see below for the correct Dial settings.
