Using a Headset with EHS / Hook Switch - Mitel 68xx

From your Mitel desk phone - 


With the Plantronics headsets (CS510, CS520, CS530, CS540, Legend CS, SAVI 710, SAVI 730 and SAVI 740) you will need to order the Plantronics EHS Cable APS-11 


With the Jabra headsets (PRO 920, 925, PRO 9450, 9460, Motion Office, 9470) you will need to order the Jabra Link EHS Adapter #14201-10


List of Components: 

  1. Power connector for Headset Base
  2. Headset
  3. EHS Adapter Cable
  4. Headset Base


Configuration:

  1. Connect the power connector (1) to the back of the base (4).

 
 2. Connect the EHS Adapter (3) into the back of the Base (4). 


3. Connect the EHS adapter (3) in the back of the Mitel phone. Make sure you connect the cable to the headset port and not the handset port by mistake. The Headset port might have a tab in the port that needs to be removed before connecting the EHS adapter cable. 



Configuring the Aastra phone:

On the phone go into settings (cog wheel left of number 7)

  1. Scroll to  "Audio"
  2. Scroll down to “headset”

       3. Select "DHSG" and select "On"

       4. Select "Done"


TIP: When installing the wireless headset try to install the items the following order:


    1. Configure DHSG settings on phone first

    2. Install the cables between the phone and wireless base without the power adapter into the base unit

    3. Connect power last adapter to wireless base unit

    4. Restart the Aastra phone

You can now use the wireless headset



If your headset base has Dial settings. You will need to make sure that the Dial settings on the base are set correctly. For example with Plantronics bases please see below for the correct Dial settings.
